A review on the bylaw for trade waste in the Thames-Coromandel District is set to be made by its local council.
A draft bylaw will be going out for public consultation from mid-March to mid-April, alongside a Long Term Plan consultation.
“Information about the draft bylaw will be available once council has approved it for consultation at its meeting on February 20,” says TCDC.
“We’ll be contacting all affected businesses that produce the kind of trade waste covered by the bylaw.
Council says the review comes in response to the substantial impact on wastewater treatment systems caused by businesses’ waste.
“Fees for disposing of trade waste into our wastewater treatment system will be set after the public consultation and will take effect from July 1.
“These will be available for feedback as part of our Long Term Plan consultation.
“From mid-March you can make a submission through our online portal, email to email@example.com or post to Thames-Coromandel District Council, Private Bag 1001, Thames 3540.”
